Hi! My name is Amy. I was diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa in January 2013. I am not an expert when it comes to Hidradenitis Suppurativa; however, I have found a way to put my HS in remission. I must stress this is what has worked for me and I understand each individual is different. My hope is to share my experiences with you to see if I can help you begin the healing process and put your HS in remission! Click on My Hidradenitis Suppurativa Story to learn more.

Ezekial, Yogurt and Raspberry Breakfast

As a Hidradenitis Suppurativa sufferer, maintaining a healthy immune system is crucial for HS remission.  Eating a healthy diet, loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory foods has allowed me to continue my HS healing journey.  To keep my 'gut' happy and improve my immune system, I eat Greek yogurt often.  We have all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  This quick and easy breakfast has become one of my favorites.

Ingredients
1/4 cup Ezekial 4:9 Almond
1 Vanilla Greek yogurt
Raspberries

  • Combine all ingredients and enjoy :)

Ezekial 4:9 Almond:  Sprouted whole grains release antioxidants and breakdown enzyme inhibitors so your body can absorb vitamins and minerals.  Ezekial 4:9 brand cereals do not have any preservatives and use all organic ingredients.  This cereal is a good source of protein offering 8 grams for 1/2 cup.

Greek Yogurt:  Protein is needed for healthy skin and to help fight off disease.  Greek Yogurt is an excellent source of protein.  One container of my Greek yogurt has 12 grams of protein!  It is also loaded with probiotics which help keep your intestines healthy along with aid in digestion.

Raspberries:  Raspberries are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, vitamin K, manganese and fiber.  Raspberries also contain antioxidants which may help fight chronic disease.  They also contain flavonoids which have been shown to reduce or stop inflammation.

    1. The challenge and extreme frustration with HS is the research done on HS has not been able to identify the true causes of HS. What is "bad" for one person may not be "bad" for another. If you have not had a chance, you should read my post on Trigger Foods. It gives a list of foods that have been known trigger foods for some HS sufferers. I do not have sensitivity to dairy so eating dairy does not affect me or my HS. However, for individuals that are lactose intolerant and have HS, you can bet this will probably be a trigger for them. If you are not lactose intolerant and you are curious if dairy is a trigger for HS, the elimination diet may be an option. Again, what may be a trigger for one person, may not be a trigger for another. Personally, I have to avoid ALL added sugars (not natural sugars). I have to read the ingredient label for everything I eat. If I see the word sugar or the "hidden sugars" that are used in place of sugar, I choose to not eat it.

I hope this helps clarify! Thank you for your comment!

  2. thanks for the help. I've been doing a detox at the moment to find out what foods triggers my HS. My HS comes and goes and I've had it for about 11 years. I feel the detox is making a difference and hopefully I will be able to find out what triggers my HS, usually stress is the trigger for me.

I've been to numerous specialists and most of them haven't been of any help. I've been on your page for 1 month and its brilliant!!! Keep up the good work. I've really glad your spreading the awareness

Peace be upon you!!! From the U.K!!
